Marque Foods was founded in July of 2000 by Ramon Canova, who had a vision to start a business that put professional chefs first in the distribution chain. Today, Marque Foods is Northern California’s leading distributor of high quality imported chocolate, pastry and dessert ingredients.

YOUR MARQUE FOODS TEAM
Ramon has thrived in the food service industry for over four decades as a Pastry Chef, Executive Chef, Restaurateur, Club Manager and Wholesale Distribution Company Director. He founded Marque Foods in the summer of 2000.
After college he pursued his passion to become a French chef. “The San Francisco food scene of the 1970s was dominated by classical French restaurants,” he recalled, and he wanted to learn from the best. He moved to France, worked for a series of French food companies and apprenticed in a Michelin-starred restaurant in Alsace and a pastry kitchen near Paris.
Upon returning to San Francisco, he furthered his skills at Le Trianon restaurant under former president Kennedy’s chef Rene Verdon.
With a solid background in French pastry and cuisine, Ramon later became a demonstration chef for a French dessert ingredient manufacturer. For seven years he traveled across North America, training chefs and distributors in French pastry techniques and ingredients.
